Vivian Carbonell is a Miami-based artist and designer with over a decade of work across sculpture, fine art, and collectible design. Her studio, Carbonell Design Studio, produces original and limited edition lighting, furniture, and objects — each piece handcrafted, each one shaped by a sustained attention to material: its origins, its weight, the particular life it carries before it enters the work.
The practice moves between design and fine art without treating them as separate disciplines. Form, tone, and structure are constant preoccupations. So is restraint — the sense that a piece should earn its presence in a room rather than announce it.
Carbonell’s work has been exhibited at Design Miami, shown at Onna House in New York and East Hampton, and featured in Place Projects. She co-founded Roque Art + Design, an activated art and design gallery in Miami dedicated to platforming local artists and designers in a city whose cultural life is still taking shape.
